Wendy Newman has been working as a professional photographer for over 30 years, has been published in a variety of media, and has won numerous awards. A former Miss Florida, she has a degree in fashion design. For ten years she was the owner and director of the Florida-based Modeling Connection, a chain of finishing/modeling schools and agencies where she taught professional runway and photography modeling and TV commercial acting as well as etiquette and self-improvement courses.
In 1999 Wendy and her family moved to Asheville, North Carolina where she discovered a new world of astonishing locations and changing seasons. Since moving to Asheville, Wendy has taught photography at the University of North Carolina Asheville, Carolina Day School, in the homeschool network, as well as private classes. She served on the board of Genesis Alliance for ten years, serving abused women and children, and donates her talents photographing terminally ill children and cancer warriors.
